Mötley Crüe's Reunion Tour Officially Postponed To 2021

After months of speculation, Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard's 'Stadium Tour' has finally be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A month ago, all four acts on the tour, Crüe, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, promised to make an announcement on the tour's status by June 1.

"We wanted to continue to communicate with our fans and update you with valid information as it becomes available," a statement read. "The official decision has been made to move all 2020 North American Stadium Tour dates into the summer of 2021. The new stadium dates are being reschedule, you tickets will be honored for all postponed shows and refund policy information will be made available shortly."

Announced in November, the 'Stadium Tour,' was on track to be one of the biggest tours of the year, having already grossed over $130 million by late-January, almost six months before the first scheduled performance June 18.

In addition to its earning potential, the 30-city tour is also Mötley Crüe's reunion tour after a four-year hiatus brought to an end following the success of last year's The Dirt biopic.

Members of Crüe remained positive about the tour's prospects of happening this year. Drummer Tommy Lee repeatedly told the press this spring that he was involved in regular production meetings as if the tour would move forward on schedule.

Jett and Poison frontman Bret Michaels have each been more cautious. Michaels, a type-1 diabetic in a high COVID-19 risk category, began canceling appearances early in the pandemic citing the risk the virus posed to him.

About two weeks ago, Jett said she was 'not comfortable' moving forward with the tour and potentially putting her band, crew and fans at risk.
