The South Carolina Department of Revenue announced that over 1 million qualified residents will receive $50 rebate checks by December 2nd, 2019. The money for these rebates will be coming form approximately $61 million dollars in tax revenue generated by the 2018 Mega Millions Jackpot won in South Carolina.
Who qualifies?
Residents must have filed an Individual Tax Return for 2018 on or before October 15th and also have a South Carolina Individual Tax Liability of at least $50 after credits. If this is you, look out for a check to the address you filed on your 2018 income tax return.
Non-residents who filed a 2018 South Carolina Tax Return could also potentially qualify to receive a rebate check.
